They trained together for years, and tend to meet up every now and then to spar. Ken has always been like a brother to Ryu.
Have Ryu and Oro grown closer since we last saw them? Either way, Ryu still has yet to find enlightenment as a true master, but he’s on his way. The elderly hermit Oro is considered one of THE most powerful characters in Street Fighter lore and has taken an interest in making Ryu his pupil. Ryu’s look in Street Fighter 6 is rather interesting in that he’s partially dressed like Oro. Over time, Ryu has conquered the evil within and ended up delivering the killing blow that seemingly destroyed M. Glory means nothing to the World Warrior as he only finds meaning in the fight itself. The poster child for fighting game crossovers, Ryu dedicates his life to roaming the world and battling anyone up to the task.
